how do I hook up two passive subwoofers?

I have a good amp already and just need a new box for my subs. Would I have to run a wire from each rear speaker to the amp or just one? And I’m guessing it’s just a matter of splicing the wires together correct? No special connection needed? I’ve set up a system in all my vehicles previously but I was always adding an aftermarket head unit which made it a simple process. Both left and right speakers and u can either splice in or there r these connectors that I really wish I could remember what they r called but they create a connection n all they do is have like a needle go through the insulation and hit the actually speaker wire. The wires u splice into also speaker wire go to a box which give you the RCA output u want to send audio to the amp. DON’T get the cheapest one! The amp will control power levels, frequencies and such as well as of the stock radio, which is nice.

Before trying to hook up your player, make sure it is plugged in and turns on when you press the “power” button. Usually a small light or welcome message appears when the DVD player is working correctly. There are at three common ways to connect a DVD player, and each needs a different cable to work. Your DVD player should come with all of the appropriate cords, but you need to check which connections your TV accepts as well.

The three most common are.

My RV has Amp connections. Is there a way to hook up to use Amp service? What do I need to do and will everything work properly? The short answer is yes, but first you need to have an adapter so you can physically plug in to the Amp outlet. Once you have the adapter, you should be able to use all your appliances — just not at the same time. You will have to manage your power usage, and be particularly aware at appliance start-up, when things like the microwave and air conditioner tend to draw more power than they do once they are up and running.

For instance, on Amps, we may run our refrigerator and air conditioner at the same time but will refrain from using the microwave until the air conditioner is off. Or you might opt for running your refrigerator on propane and you will still have enough power leftover for running your air conditioner and microwave at the same time.

Different RVs will have different wiring schematics, so you may have to experiment. As a general guideline, an air conditioner might use Amps, a microwave Amps larger convection microwave 13 Amps and the fridge Amps. Appliances with heating elements hair dryer, toaster, coffeemaker, etc. Electric heaters are another big draw.

On our rig we have a programmable battery charge rate that allows us to restrict the amount of power used by my battery charger. These are just a few suggestions to help you live with amps.

How do you hook up a 1 farad capacitor to your amp? Answer 1 You first have to determine which side of the cap is positive andwhich side is negative. You run a wire from the negative side tothe chassis and …for the positive side you run a cable from thebattery to the terminal and from the terminal to the amp. Be careful not to mix up positive and negative on the capbecause it could explode and cause damage.

Answer 2 Because the capacitor is used to filter changes in supply voltageto the amp, the capacitor should be as close to the amp aspossible, and connected with heavy wiring. The capacitor also actsas a huge reservoir to supply lots of current as the amp signalhits high levels. By providing plenty of current when it is needed, distortion in the sound is minimized.

Do you need an amp if you hook up subwoofers in your car?

It shows on the picture by the two AC outputs 7 and 8. I cannot find a download for the manual so I cannot confirm that both of these AC outputs are milliamps but this is what it looks like from the data on their website. Will this damage the unit? The amp comes with FX loop but currently my new setup is running everything upfront. I only want to gate my drive pedals and vibe.

Aug 06,  · First of all you need to know what the circuit power rating is of the electric hook up. The power supply is usually either 10 amp or 16 amp so you then need to do your own calculations then. Read on each individual electrical appliance you have to .

Share on Facebook You’ve just purchased watt speakers capable of a gust-busting 91 decibels, backed by a watt four-channel amplifier. The only problem here is that you’re a bit lacking in the wiring department and want to make sure you’ve correctly put together these monster noise machines all for the sake of blowing your neighbors out of their lounge chairs.

Hooking up speakers to an amp is simple. Speaker wire comes in various gauges, lengths, resistance and capacities. Step Measure the distance from the amplifier to the speakers. If the speakers are close to the amplifier, say within 80 feet, gauge wire will do fine. If the speakers are further away, you need thicker wire to 14 gauge for better conductivity.

They had played the South, up and down the East Coast, and into the Midwest before breaking up. Cummings, who moved to New Jersey with the plan of forming a new band, brought back Sawyer to rejoin him. They then took on future primary vocalist, New Jersey native Dennis Locorriere , at first as a bass player. Francis, who had returned south after the Chocolate Papers broke up, returned to be the new band’s keyboardist.

When told by a club owner that they needed a name to put on a poster in the window of his establishment, Cummings made a sign:

How to wire a 240 volt, 16 amp plug?

This is not a liability at all as the B is one of the best sounding tubes ever produced. Even if you have highest efficiency speakers, the golden tone of the B tube and extra headroom it provides, are still the safest bet for DHT amplifier success with the most kinds of speakers, especially if they are not horn types. Push- pull B amplification offers the highest output power level of any of the above configurations up to 40 watts per channel or more in some circuits!

For my initial foray into the world of DIY tube amps, I decided to hedge my bets and go with the B single-ended tube topology for higher power and great fidelity.

Last updated on in Camping Tips Sometimes using electricity in your tent is essential, especially if you want to heat your tent in the cooler months. There are also times when a kettle, microwave, lights, and a small fridge may be useful on a long camp, as well as a bottle steriliser for babies. Not to mention a phone charger! What electrical appliances can you use at the campsite? The majority of campsites in the UK will provide a 3 pin connector rated at 16 Amps, which can provide a V supply, just like at home.

The key here is understanding how much you can plug in before the circuit breaker trips. This may be something only the campsite owner can do, which may not be possible between 9 pm and 9 am, or there could even be a charge for resetting the electrics. Working out exactly how much you can plug in and turn on requires an understanding of Ohms law and also taking into account any voltage drop which can cause a current increase with long lengths of cable!

You can use the table below to see how much power you have available depending on the current available at the campsite.

When was the last time you had anything hooked up to the tape monitors? If you are like me you ditched your cassette deck years ago It would not have occurred to me to attempt to connect the Little Dot to the headphone jack of the Yamaha, but in theory that should work no differently than connecting to the headphone jack of your iPad note it would be better to access a line out signal from your iPad via some sort of docking device. Sounds like the Yamaha’s headphone circuit may be shot. Do you hear noise and distortion if you hook up your headphones directly to the Yamaha headphone jack too?

I would think it is pretty unusual for the headphone circuitry and both tape monitors to fail in the same unit. Either you are very unlucky, have grievously mistreated your poor Yamaha over the years, or are doing something wrong that is not readily apparent from my view across the interwebs most likely There should be a way to make this work if your Yamaha is in good working order.

An electric hook up when camping provides some home comforts, and also the use of a heater in cooler times. Using an Electric Hook Up (EHU) when Camping. The majority of campsites in the UK will provide a 3 pin connector rated at 16 Amps, which can provide a V supply, just like at home.

View WillK’s Album Ok, this sounds a lot like part of my project but I’m using an 8 space load panel where I’m using a 20 space panel And using smaller cable, I’ll get to that. First of all, it looks like you’ve probably got Square D Homeline? Just wanted to check because they have 2 lines, one is Homeline and the other is QO. I’m using a Homeline panel so if that’s what you have then I can refer to my own stuff. Also, I saw they have 8 space main lug and main breaker, this needs to be main breaker so you have a main shutoff in the garage.

Speaker Connections for proper impedance match A note about amplifiers: You should always use the recommended load for your amplifier. However, if you must use a load other than the recommended load, here is a short guide. Most solid-state amplifiers would rather look at an open circuit no speaker at all than a load. Therefore, you can usually use a load that is higher than the recommended load. Do not use a lower impedance load, as this could cause serious damage to your SS amp. On the other hand, most tube amplifiers need a load to avoid transformer or tube socket damage.

If a mismatch can not be avoided on a tube amp, it is better to go towards a lower impedance rather than too high of a speaker impedance. This may stress the tubes some, but, tubes are cheaper than transformers. As the graphic shows, you connect the positive wire to speaker A’s positive terminal, connect a wire from speaker A’s negative terminal to speaker B’s positive wire, and then connect the negative wire to the negative terminal of speaker B.

You could continue this string for as many speakers that you have available, however, it may not be very practical. The impedances add in a series connection. If speaker A equals 8ohms and speaker B equals 8ohms, the total load is A plus B, or 16ohms. If you string three 8 ohm speakers in series the net impedance will be 3X8 24 ohms.
